A portion of the proceeds from this Gala will be donated to New Orleans′ The Roots of Music:Th e Roots of Music's mission is to teach, support and empower New Orleans' youth through music education, academic support, and mentorship while preserving and promoting New Orleans' unique musical and cultural heritage goal is to give the youth of New Orleans the resources to live positive, productive, self-reliant lives.Th e Roots of Music promotes self-su ciency and self-discipline by developing the talent of young musicians, while helping increase academic achievement and decreasing at-risk behavior. The Roots of Music runs our city's only free, year round music education and academic program, providing kids ages 9-14 with programming in the areas of music education, academic mentoring, positive behaviors, civic responsibility, and life skills. Along the way, they have created a nationally-recognized marching band. The Roots of Music is a non profit organization. |
